It is very important to know about your thoughts and beliefs so that they orient you positively.
But, how can you know what your thoughts are?
Well, it is possible if you start noting down your thoughts. It need not be meaningful; it can be anything.
Write whatever comes to your mind in the raw form, it will be useful for you to track what you are thinking.
You will find that most of the thoughts are useless or negative.
In life, we usually focus on the negative things and overlook the positive aspects that we hold in life. This is the reason why we end up having useless thoughts.
Similarly, in a student’s life, a student gets a lot of negative thoughts.
These thoughts sound like ‘I want to give up’ or ‘I will not be able to pass this exam’, etc. Due to having thoughts like these, the student is not able to study properly and so they end up failing.
So how do you get rid of them?
Well, I’ve learned that you can’t get rid of them. We can’t control our consciousness.
We can only control what thoughts we follow through on.
You only have to be aware of your thoughts.
Acknowledge them. But never blame yourself or say, “Why do I have these thoughts?” No one has the answer to that.
It’s better to be aware of your thoughts and decide what to focus on and what to ignore.
If you are a student and you want to overcome this problem, you will have to be aware of your negative thoughts and acknowledge them, instead of getting stressed or blaming yourself. Start focusing on yourself and stop being stressed about negative thoughts. Give yourself some time in this direction and you will start to see a change in yourself.
We usually get something keeps a lot of expectations, and when the expectations are unmet we are disappointed. Hence it is better to keep working rather than having high expectations from the tasks we do.
Similarly, a student should plan wisely and keep working towards his goals without thinking of what results he would get. If he would expect a lot of marks and in the end, the result would not be in his favor, then it would simply hurt him.
